"du Lee Dou des Thitounes" Kennels were established in 1987 by Eliane Martineau (known then as Bernard). It consists of selected Chows only bred in every colour, rough and smooth.

It is the French largest and oldest Chow Kennel still in activity (with at least 1 litter per year).

Eliane bred 11 French Champions thus making her one of the three main Champions kennels in France (behind "du Sama Khada", 13 Champions and "du Kiang Sou", 12 Champions). "du Lee Dou des Thitounes" kennels produced numerous Champions in other countries too.

Eliane is also one of the rare breeder to work with her own breedlines for more than 30 years (even if she adds new bloodlines on a regular basis to keep the variety of the gene pool). Her foundation lines go back to 100% French breedlines and first French Chows (owned by Countess de Cholet) can be tracked in pedigrees.
